ResQ Youth International is seeking qualified and committed individuals to join its Board of Directors and Board Committee in a volunteer capacity.
About the Organization
Founded in 2001, ResQ Youth International is a registered Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting at-risk youth and youth in crisis. Established by a coalition of law enforcement professionals, educators, legal experts, and community leaders, the organization provides mentorship, counseling, educational support, and restorative programming to help youth build resilience and achieve long-term success.
Position Overview
Members of the Board of Directors/ Board Committees provide strategic oversight and governance, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission to empower youth and strengthen communities. Board members contribute to long-term planning, organizational sustainability, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and governance oversight
- Support policy development and organizational decision-making
- Contribute to fundraising initiatives and resource development
- Act as an ambassador for the organization within the community
- Attend and actively participate in board and committee meetings
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated commitment to youth development, social impact, and community service
- Strong leadership, governance, and communication skills
- Experience in nonprofit governance, law, social service finance, education, public policy, or fundraising is considered an asset
- Ability to contribute to strategic growth and organizational sustainability
Position Details
- Volunteer, unpaid position
- Estimated commitment: 8 hours per month
